Alexa Barker – Founder of Where To Stay With Kids
I’m is a UK based mum of three children, at one stage all under 5, a previous senior executive in the Financial Services sector, and now on a career break spending time with her growing brood. The ‘Where To Stay With Kids’ blog came out of the challenges I had found trying to find places to stay on holiday that cater for our family, and that don’t break the bank. After lots of conversations with friends who, it turns out, were experiencing similar issues finding the right family holidays for them, the ‘Where To Stay With Kids’ blog was born with the aim of giving families ideas on where to stay with their own kids that have worked well for other families. Since the blog started, I’ve also founded TripAbrood (www.tripabrood.com), a first of it’s kind one-stop-shop for researching and booking all elements of a family holiday.
I’ve lived and worked in UK, Europe and Asia and has holidayed in all continents in the world apart from Antarctica (several of them with kids in tow), and am passionate about making family travel easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved!
I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I’m enjoying creating it. There are a whole bunch of people who’ve contributed to it so far, and a huge thank you to them.. If you want to contribute a guest blog, please do get in touch via the contact sheet – we’d love to hear from you 🙂
In this blog, there’s a real mixture of ideas on where to stay with kids – some budget, some mid-range, and some luxury. Because let’s face it, every so often, if we can justify it, we all need a little bit of luxury..!
As a friend and inspiration recently shared, “Regret for the things we did can be tempered with time; it is the regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable”. We only have one life, let’s live it big.. one fun holiday at a time! Alexa x
